Praise for this book
Five star Review by Alma Boucher for Readers' Favorite in The Convent House by Margo Carey, when her mother's sister paid a visit, Alex found it hard to fathom that she was part of the family. Alex’s mother had told her that she was an only child and had no family. Alex’s new family was descended from the Knights Templar and gifted with psychic abilities. They were the protectors of the convent house and were tasked with guarding against an ancient evil that lay in wait, spanning across millennia. Alex was on the verge of turning twenty-five when she was expected to undergo a transformation and gain psychic abilities. Should she survive long enough to reach the age of twenty-five, Alex's newfound powers could defeat this ancient evil. Margo Carey's The Convent House was a mysterious, paranormal, familial, and psychic roller coaster. With all the turns and twists, the plot moved quickly, and I was never sure what would happen next. I was guessing until the very end. There was never a dull moment because the action began immediately on page one. I could not put the book down because the writing was captivating. The characters were well-developed and relatable. They had intriguing backgrounds and were compelling people. I liked finding out more about the family and their fascinating interactions. Alex found it difficult to suddenly learn that her mother was not the only child in the family but rather a member of a large one. The story exceeded my expectations and was expertly written.
